 1. Akiyama HIDENORI, Kumomato University , Japan


              Development of a Rapid e-Learning System and its Use at Graduate School“


             A rapid e-Learning system including the production and distribution of e-learning streaming contents has been developed. This system converts the narrated PowerPoint format to the Windows Media-based video format, and sends video contents to students using Windows Media streaming technology. The KUMA (Kumamoto Universal and Multipurpose Authoring system) for the video conversion has been developed and becomes a core of the Rapid e-Learning system. All professors of Department of New Frontier Sciences, Graduate School of Science and Technology, Kumamoto University uses this system for education of graduate students.  




Hidenori Akiyama received the Ph.D. degree from Nagoya University, Japan in 1979, He was a research associate at Nagoya University from 1979 to 1985, and since then has been on the faculty of Kumamoto University. He was a director of the 21st century COE (Center of Excellence) program on pulsed power science, and is a director of the global COE program on pulsed power engineering, which is supported by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sport, Science and Technology, Japan for ten years. He is the author of about 250 refereed journal papers and 10 books, and has been awarded “IEEE Major Educational Innovation Award, 2000”, “IEEE Peter Haas Award, 2003”,  “IEEE Germeshausen Award, 2008”, and “Frank Raidy Bioelectrics Award, 2011”.

Ethem Eldem obtained an MBA degree in International Business Management following his graduation from Business Administration.

Ethem began his career in a local consulting firms at 1993 and has successfully accomplished organizational development projects and major restructuring projects in various industries. Prior to joining Turkcell, he worked in PricewaterhouseCoopers as Manager in human resource consulting services between 2001-2003. 

He started his career in Turkcell  in 2003 as the Organizational Development Division Head of Turkcell. Between 2008-2010  he was  responsible  for group wide change management and  coordination of all operational subsidiaries.

Since February 2010, he is responsible for Partnership Management and Corporate Products.

He is a member of YDD (Turkish Management Consultants Association) KALDER(Turkish Quality Management Association) and Peryön (Turkish Personnel Management Association).
